Macmillan Coffee Morning 2019
We had such a great turn out for our 2019 Macmillan Coffee Morning, hosted at The Barnsley Business Village. With some of the cakes looking like they could be from an episode of the Great British Bake-Off!
The event is always a fantastic opportunity to indulge in some delicious cakes, all whilst supporting such an amazing cause.
Because of all the generous donations, we managed to raise a fantastic Ā£310 for Macmillan Cancer Support!
GLEE Exhibition 2019
We attended the exciting GLEE exhibition at the Birmingham NEC on 10th – 12th September 2019. Once again, showcasing our sustainable coffee and recycling our used coffee grounds!
It was great to hear about all the new developments in the industry and catch up with some familiar faces.
TUCO Conference 2019
The 2019 TUCO Conference was held between the 30th and 31st July at the prestigious University of York. We proudly served our own delicious Balmforth & Co coffee, all in reusable keep cups, supporting TUCO with their pledge to stamp out the use of single-use paper cups (at the event).
CDX 2019
This was our first year at the event (Car Dealer Expo), which took place at Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre on 12th June 2019.
It was great to speak to car dealership teams from across the UK and hear about developments in the industry. The event allowed us to present our high spec coffee machines, top quality coffee beans, branded crockery and our unique ‘branded option’.
HEFMA 2019
We always enjoy our time at the HEFMA Leadership Forums, with the 2019 event being no different. The year saw us remain in Yorkshire and exhibit at Doncaster Racecourse between the 16th and 17th May.
Facilities Managers within the Healthcare sector have very demanding roles, so it is great to be able to meet FM Managers at the event and hear how we can support them on delivering a high-quality food and beverage offering (within their hospitals).
HCA 2019
We have been exhibiting at the Hospital Caterers Association forums for many years, and the event never disappoints. The 2019 forum was held between the 11th and 12th April at the beautiful Celtic Manor Resort in Wales.
The catering world is ever-changing, none more so than within the healthcare sector. With the introduction of the CQUIN guidelines in 2018, it was great to hear about how Trusts were getting on. We found that some teams had not only delivered on the guidelines but in some cases, had developed an even higher level of healthy eating and nutritional standards.
Balmforth & Co Birthday Party!
In celebration of our birthday, we hosted a party full of delicious barista served coffee and treats on 25th January 2019, at our office in Barnsley.
With the launch of our 2019 recipe calendar, we demonstrated and tasted all the new and exciting coffee recipes at the event.
NFPC Exhibition 2019 – Sponsor
We were very excited to not only be a sponsor at the event, but also sole refreshment provider.
The industry-leading exhibition has grown to become a key annual event for companies associated with Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Electronics, Control and Automation.
Held at the National Fluid Power Centre in Worksop the open day (NFPC exhibition 2019) welcomed over 80 exhibiting companies and 500 visitors.
Movember 2018
All November
Our amazing family at Refreshment Sytems took part in Movember 2018, raising funds for the Movember Foundation. With moustaches being grown all month for donations, the guys were willing to look a little less groomed to drum up all the help they could, to support the worthy cause!
Donations are still welcome – simply click on the moustache below and you will be taken directly to the charity’s website.
Macmillan Coffee Morning
Friday 28th September 2018
We had such a great turn out for our 2018 Macmillan Coffee Morning, at our Balmforth & Co Coffee School in Barnsley. Coffees and cakes were selling thick and fast, all in support of this amazing cause.
There was an exciting buzz around the room, which translated into donations! we saw an extra Ā£100 to what we raised last year. The total on the day was a fantastic Ā£400, with every penny going to the Macmillan Cancer Support charity.
A huge thank you to all that came along on the day!
The importance of coffee and its history…
Friday 5th October 2018
With more than 15 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, Steve May has seen how the coffee market has developed and evolved, into the powerhouse that it is today!
In this exciting session, Steve covered a wide range of topics including; where coffee originally came from, how tastes change from country-to-country, and where he sees the industry going over the next year and beyond.
There were also demonstrations and tastings for our guests to truly understand the difference between espresso and filter-based drinks, and the taste difference between Arabica and Robusta beans.
The event was jam-packed with coffee enthusiasts, whether that be a total novice or an experienced espresso drinker. We received great feedback from all of the attendees, with everyone rating the event ‘Excellent’ or ‘Very Good’.
Glee 2018 Birmingham
This was our first year exhibiting at Glee in Birmingham, attending the show with our Balmforth & Co coffee. Our team had a great time meeting various people and treating them to a delicious Blend 2 coffee or a demonstration on the V60 drippers with our Blend 1, in ground form.
TUCO Annual Conference 2018 Hull
Attending the 2018 TUCO conference situated in the University of Hull, we gained valuable insight into the catering world of Higher Education. We believe we have much to bring to Universities across the country, with this in mind we will be back next year at the University of York for the next Annual Conference.
