In our last article, we discussed the four things you should consider doing before your staff and colleagues return to the office. In this guide, we’ll highlight new machine technology and provide a guide to cleaning and sanitising coffee and vending machines.
Using Our Advanced Technology
Over the last year, RSL has been working with manufacturers to introduce new technology to enhance machine cleanliness. For instance, on our coffee machines for offices, we have introduced distance selection.
Distance selection comes in various forms. For example, using your finger, you can now hover over a drink selection on Coffetek bean to cup coffee machines to choose your favourite drink. Here’s a video showing how it works:
On our instant coffee machine screens, CRANE has introduced SAFETouch, an antimicrobial agent which stops bacteria growth.
Perhaps the most exciting of them all is the SEGO bean to cup coffee machine with its new contactless coffee control app that enables remote drink selection.
Carimali also introduced a touchless solution using QR codes to make drink selections.
All this great technology helps reduce your contact with machines. But what if you don’t have these features on your machines yet?
A good cleaning and sanitising regime is essential. Keep on reading for the cleaning tips recommended by manufacturers. This cleaning guide is for advice only. You should always refer to the operative manual for complete safety information and instruction.
1 – Daily Cleaning
For coffee machines, flush the machine at least once a day and the brewer or mixing system at least once a week. Most of our machines can be flushed with clean hot water at the push of a button.
On a snacks or cold drinks vending machine, manufacturers suggest using glass cleaner to clean the inside and outside of the vending machine glass. For touchscreen-enabled machines, apply cleaner to a disposable towel and then apply to the touchscreen.
Cleaning the surface of your machines often will help stop the spread of viruses and bacteria.
As part of a service package, we cover cleaning, maintenance, boiler service inspections and much more. Get in touch with a member of our team to find out more.
2 – Weekly Cleaning
For tea and coffee machines, manufacturers recommend cleaning the tea and coffee brewer units once a week. Again, please refer to the operative manual for complete safety information and instruction when considering any maintenance on the machine.
